IDA is an independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify protection risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Enhance referral mechanisms to protection services, ensuring confidentiality and staff training on safe referrals.
  • Support staff capacity-building in areas like psychological first aid, safeguarding, and protection against exploitation and abuse.
  • Provide guidance to Mother Baby Area (MBA) teams on integrating protection into services.
  • Collaborate with MBA supervisors to implement protection plans and monitor progress.
  • Ensure compliance with protection cluster guidelines and safeguarding policies.
  • Organize training sessions for field staff on safeguarding procedures.
  • Work with other departments and partners to enhance service integration.
  • Represent the organization in forums and meetings.
  • Conduct field visits and report on progress and emerging protection needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian context.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a role with responsibilities related to protection mainstreaming, child protection, maternal and child health, or providing psychological support.
  • Previous knowledge or experience of safeguarding/PSEAH
  • Experience of facilitating trainings and building staff capacity on protection-related topics.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
