Through the People’s Convoy started in December 2016, thousands of people contributed to build the world’s first crowdfunded hospital that IDA will run in Northeastern Aleppo province, called Hope Hospital.
Hope Hospital will be a specialised children’s hospital, staffed by the same medical team that used to work in IDA’s Children’s Hospital in east Aleppo city before it was bombed out of operation at the end of 2016.
Hope Hospital is located in a remote area that is underserved with healthcare services, in between the larger cities of Jarablus, Azaz and Menbij. The closest hospitals are miles away, and Hope Hospital will be providing services to in area covering 60,000 people in the Aleppo countryside.
IDA is currently rehabilitating the building for the hospital before outfitting it with the equipment and opening its doors in the Spring. The team thanks all the humanitarians, doctors, and everyday people around the world who stood together to make a real difference and reach those most in need.
Updates on the Hope Hospital can be found in our News section.
