(Dagsavisen) ”Lege Mahmoud Mustafa leter etter ordene. Han synes det er vanskelig å beskrive hjembyen Aleppo, som har blitt selve episentret i den brutale syriske borgerkrigen. Som lege er han og kollegene ekstra utsatt.
– Angrepene er rettet mot oss, mot sykehus og legepersonell, sier Mustafa, som sier han mistet fem kolleger bare i forrige uke.
Han sier 850 leger og sykepleiere er drept så langt i krigen. På grunn av de mange angrepene kan ikke leger og sykepleiere i Aleppo følge Genèvekonvensjonen, som krever tydelig merking av ambulanser og sykehus. De røde kryssene, som er ment å beskytte, er blitt mål.
